У 1970 р., задля вирішення проблеми транспортування робітників із Салтівки до промислових підприємств Орджонікідзівського (нині – Індустріального) району Харкова, була побудована нова трамвайна лінія довжиною 8 км. Її будівництво почалось від заводу «Південкабель» уздовж проспекту Тракторобудівників.
Прокладення нової лінії було проголошено «народним будівництвом», в якому брала участь велика кількість жителів міста. Будівництво велось під особливим наглядом тодішнього очільника Харкова та Харківської області – першого секретаря обласного комітету комуністичної партії Григорія Ващенка, який міг несподівано з’явитися з перевіркою на об’єкті і в день, і в ночі.
Будівництво тривало усього 2 місяці – таких рекордних строків із прокладання нових трамвайних ліній раніше не було ніде у Радянському Союзі. Урочисте відкриття відбулося 11 травня 1970 р. і було заявлено як подарунок жителям Салтівського житлового масиву до Дня Перемоги. Перший трамвай за новим маршрутом провела Ірина Степул.
Особливо відзначилися під час будівництва нової трамвайної лінії бригади тресту «Харківспецбуд», управління екскавації «Харківжитлобуд», дорожні робітники 92-го тресту і тресту «Південспецбуд», мостозагін №27, бригади добровольців тракторного, підшипникового, верстатобудівного заводів і тисячі хар)
У 1977 р. на території північно-східної частини Салтівського житлового масиву розпочалось будівництво трамвайного депо. У 1982 р. воно було остаточно добудоване і стало найбільшим в Радянському Союзі. Через 40 років, у 2022 р., Салтівське трамвайне депо неодноразово було обстріляне ракетами з російської федерації, більша частина салтівських трамваїв була знищена.
Проект будівництва Харківського метрополітену, який передбачав створення низки станцій на території Салтівки: «Академіка Павлова», «Автострадна», «Салтівка», «Сади» був розроблений у 1967 р.
Але задля того, щоб більш ефективно з’єднати підземним транспортом Салтівський житловий масив із іншими районами міста, було прийнято рішення побудувати окрему Салтівську лінію Харківського метрополітену уздовж вулиці Академіка Павлова. Проектом передбачалася можливість зробити відгалуження від основної лінії на Східну Салтівку від станції «Барабашова». Початок будівництва Салтівської лінії прийнято відраховувати від 16 квітня 1977 р, коли було закладено станцію «Пушкінська». Під час будівництва лінії метробудівники виявили важкі геологічні умови – велику масу ґрунтових вод. Між станціями «Київська» і «Барабашова», над руслом річки Харків був побудований критий метроміст. Станції Салтівської лінії, із архітектурно-мистецької точки зору, вважаються найкращими серед інших у Харківському метрополітені.
11 серпня 1984 р. відбулось урочисте відкриття перших 5 станцій Салтівської лінії метрополітену: «Історичний музей», «Дзержинська» (нині «Університет»), «Пушкінська», «Київська», «Барабашова» (нині «Академіка Барабашова»). 24 жовтня 1986 р. були відкриті ще три станції: «Академіка Павлова», «Студентська», «Героїв Праці».
У книзі відгуків про відкриття Салтівської лінії Харківського метрополітену ми можемо побачити характерні для того часу записи:
«Мы жители огромного Салтовского жилого массива г. Харькова очень благодарны любимой Родине за то, что к нам пришло метро. Сердечное спасибо партии и правительству за такой подарок рабочему классу».
«Вошла в метро и плачу от радости и гордости за свой город, за свою страну. Огромное спасибо строителям метро. Это настоящее чудо!»
«Я работаю на ул. Сумской, но живу на ул. Академика Павлова. Очень благодарна и довольна, что теперь в метро еду полчаса вместо 1,5 часа».
На жаль, після початку повномасштабної військової агресії російської федерації проти України 24 лютого 2022 р., Салтівська лінія метрополітену постраждала. З перших днів війни станції метро Салтівської лінії стали укриттям для багатьох харків’ян, які переховувались від бомбардувань та ракетних ударів. Наземна інфраструктура Салтівської лінії не була захищена, тому зазнала руйнувань. Наприклад, 6 березня 2022 р. був нанесений ракетний удар по Салтівському депо метрополітену. Після того, як інтенсивність обстрілів Харкова зменшилась, 24 травня 2022 р. Салтівська лінії метрополітену, окрім станцій «Академіка Павлова», «Студентська» та «Героїв праці» знову почала перевозити пасажирів, а 27 травня вже з залученням всіх станцій. З поновленням обстрілів Салтівки влітку 2022 р. станції метро «Академіка Павлова», «Студентська» та «Героїв праці» закривались для перевезення пасажирів, але з 29 вересня 2022 р. ці станції знову працюють в штатному режимі. Будемо сподіватись, що станції метро Салтівської лінії метрополітену вже не будуть закриватись, а у майбутньому будуть відкриватись тільки нові.

Lebanon’s health ministry said at least 14 people were killed and 66 others injured in the airstrike, which leveled a multistory building in a densely populated neighborhood.
Aqil had a $7 million bounty on his head from the United States for his suspected involvement in the 1983 strike on the US Embassy in Beirut, which killed 63 people, as well as the bombing of the Beirut Marine barracks, which killed 241 US personnel later that year.
A CNN team on the ground in Beirut saw a frantic effort to rescue people from underneath the rubble and rush the wounded to hospital. Witnesses said nearby buildings shook for nearly half an hour after the strike, which the IDF said it had carried out at around 4 p.m. local time.
A week of surprise attacks
Friday’s strike marked the fourth consecutive day of surprise attacks on Beirut and other sites across the country, even as Israeli forces continued deadly strikes and operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The first major attack against Hezbollah this week came Tuesday afternoon when pagers belonging to the militant groups’ members exploded near-simultaneously. The pagers had been used by Hezbollah to communicate after the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, encouraged members to switch to low-tech devices to prevent more of them from being assassinated.
